    Re: ITALIAN TV

xxkhbxx I do not know why you are having such a hard time understanding this.
You got SCREWED by OVERSEATV because they were showing Itanlian tv with out proper permission they did not have the legal right to show it.

Getnextv will NOT provided these channels because at this time they do not have the legal right to and it seems no one does.  So why do you want Getnextv to show them illeagaly??
The FCC will find nothing wrong with Getnextv because they are doing the right thing.

why is that so difficult for you to understand??
You need to write to the Italian stations and ask them to give Getnextv the rights to show them,, then you'll get your Italian tv legaly.

Otherwise all you'll get is another company stealing there siganls and your money.

I already live in NYC,,, By the way don't you think if Getnextv were also doing all this illegaly that they would be offering all the German channels and Italian channels that people are asking for???

I mean really think about it,, for them to steal these siganls costs them nothing and to turn around and offer them would be pure profit for them.  so why are they not doing it??

If there other channels and package are all illegal then why not go ahead and offer all these others also and make a quick $$$$??

Oh by the way could you post here the phone numbers for the FCC and the names of those your dealing with?? I would also like to speak with them.

It really doesnt take alot to find these informations on your own, I mean if you found this forum you can find these. Just takes alittle brain power and fingers, depending on how many brain cells ya got lol.  good luck

Keep up the good work, xxkhbxx.

I have been burnt by OverseaTV as well and I don't want to let any scammers out there get away with other people's honest earned money.

Btw, I received a call from NexTv tonight, advising me that they are offering 6 German channels now: ARD, ZDF, RTL, DW, ProSieben and I forgot the 6th one.

They must have gotten my number from OverseaTv or their agents as I have never ever disclosed my number to them. This affiliation already makes me suspicious. Plus the fact that their website doesn't mention any of the channels (they manage to stream TV channels from all over the world, but I guess a simple website update requires just too much work)

As much as I like to believe that they are legit, in the end, there is no proof.

So for now I stick to the famous Dubya quote: "Fool me once, shame on — shame on you. Fool me — you can't get fooled again"

    Re: ITALIAN TV

just want to share some info on getnextv and why i belive in them as a real company. NEXTV is a Canadian-based IPTV provider that delivers digital television services via broadband. It launched in 2007 and is owned by Ethnic Channels Group http://www.ethnicchannels.com/,

This parent company is NOT new they are a real established company for a number of years now.

Here is some info thanks to Wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ethnic_Channels_Group

Ethnic Channels Group is a Canadian licensed television broadcaster providing premium programming to Canada's multicultural community. The company broadcasts content catering to various ethnicities from European to Asian to Caribbean. It has been in operation since 2004 and is headquartered in Toronto, Ontario. ECG is headed by Mr. Slava Levin, a relative newcomer to the Canadian broadcasting scene.

Mr. Levin has been very vocal about his frustration in getting licensed channels to be carried by Canadian Cable and Satellite companies as it seems distributors prefer to add foreign channels to their lineup, instead of Canadian ethnic services. So far Ethnic Channels Group has launched 10 services out of 49 that they have licenses for. Most of the channels are available through Rogers Cable, with the exception of Iran TV Network which is carried by Telus TV, who also carry six other ECG channels. DTH Satellite provider Bell Expressvu has added the 3 Russian services and ProSiebenSat.1 Welt to its lineup.

Due to the fact that these are Canadian services, they are required to air 15% Canadian content, which ECG produces in its state-of-the art broadcast studio.

(MY COMMENTS) GETNEXTV is now venturing into IPTV because this is where the future of TV is. My dealings with them have been great. Customer service is GREAT i got my box very fast it was well packaged and all the cables and great instructions,, very simple to set up.

NO i do not work for them nor do i benifit from them in anyway i am just VERY happy to have my Russian TV back! I feel confident and secure that they getnextv are the best IPTV service out there.

Hey ranx thanks for the vote of confidence!  everything is going well and I even gave them the info to morey chaplick (who was the owner of broadshift) who is also the owner of a company that sells vespa in canada. but thats besides the point.

oh and seems to me that RED does infact work for the company as he sounds like a damn info-mercial lol

    Re: ITALIAN TV

Don't you think that people will choose a company who will give them channels they want and not all the free, useless, not interesting stuff offered by legit guys? Who cares if they are ligit or not? Don't buy into the annual subscription and if the company goes down, you only paid for what you watched. Find another one that offers something similar. It is a vicious circle. Nextv may be good, legit (which I highly doubt), but mostly simply unable to offer the channels people would pay to watch since they are available on satellite or cable.
Worse comes to worse, get yourself a Sling box and host it in the country of your interest and watch all the channels from there.

    Re: ITALIAN TV

    Hi tvguy,

unfortunately, I will have to agree with you. As long as regulators are slow to adapt to this new global world and make a legal limitless placeshift service possible, we will have to live with these illegal fly-by operations.

I guess the newest episode of these illegal services is IGOCOLO - conveniently located on the little island of Gibraltar (for sure just a letterbox office). It’s a different set up, but the same deal. They may be more in a legal grey-area instead of being completely illegal. On the other you don't get all the interesting channels...

Anyway, as tvguy said: buyer beware - you can deal with them but dont be surprised if you get burned if they have to close shop suddenly once lawmakers have caught up with them.

    Ranx
