    Re: OverseaTV

I also had TV Rossiya since early 2007, worked OK, but in December everything stopped, I couldn't reach anybody by phone and my credit card still got charged!!!

Apparently they are out of business, I've read different reasons on different forums...

Last week I got a call from a new company, NexTV, also located in Toronto and they were offering Russian channels for almost same price and they said they were able to reprogram some boxes. My box (I had Sunniwell box from Tv Rossiya) wasn't programmable, so I had an option to subscribe with NexTV and pay monthly rent for their box. To make sure it's not another rip off, I asked the address and went to their office (took me an hour from my home, but this time I wanted to be sure).

The office looks like a real office, nice people, lots of TV monitors, and I got my new box Softier, got it activated in the office and so far it works fine. I got 21 channel for $42/month and they said there will be more channels.

Also they have licences for the channels right at the entrance to their office.

You can't subscribe on your own on their website, only by phone or in person. the website is www.getnextv.com and the phone is 866-365-6722

Hope it'll work and I'm glad I've seen them personally, not like other "providers" without any address on their website.

    Re: OverseaTV

If you have a Sunniwel box, you can get it reprogrammed at RTNC, also Toronto company offering over 40 channels from Russia and Ukraine as well as over 5,000 titles of VOD.

    Re: germantv

u know what i find funny is that a previous post was flaming out italian subscribers blaming oversea tv for showing italian channels that they didnt legally have the rights to, BUT!!! a few weeks ago on the vutv.tv webpage they were offering the same italian packages that oversea tv was offering but now its not there no more, how could vutv over these channels in the past?? That must mean that they didnt have the rights to them either??

Second question... how in the hell do i get my money back from oversea tv for the lease of my convertor box.. its a contract and i WANT it to be honored!!

    Re: germantv

xxkhbxx maybe this will help you understand.  If you want to buy a phillips DVD player you can go to Phillips.com and buy direct OR you can go to a dealer like best buy circut city and so on that also sell philips dvd players.   Vutv was a DEALER for Overseatv.   through them you could buy the Overseatv pakage.  When Overseatv went under then VUTV could no longer offer there package.  So NOW VUTV are a DEALER for GETNEXTV.

I do not know how you will ever get your money back
I also bought a Box for $500.00 and didn't get much use out of it.  that is what happens when you deal with fly by night companys.
So after doing my research and speaking to others i  fully belive Getnextv is the only real legit provider of ehtnic TV right now.

So to get GETNEXTV you can either go directly through them or you can go through a dealer like Vutv.

Hope that clarify's some things fo you.

    Re: germantv

    Good day, everyone!

Just a little update from us.

Indeed we have added a new channel to German channels line up (ARD).

We also have noticed the “frozen picture” issue, thanks to our subscribers feedback, we been able to locate the problem and fix it !

We are currently working on “time shifting” , for our German and Russian packages.

We are also working on the new channels for our German and Russian packages.

New and updated web site for NexTV is in its final stage of completion, and should up and running in the near future.

Thank you for your continuing support, patience and understanding, everybody !

    Re: germantv

    Dear GetNexTV.com,

Kudos to you for fixing the "frozen picture" issue.  Indeed I have noticed that it was no longer an issue for me starting last evening (Wed.).

Regarding the "time shifting", I would hope that you are only considering adding the time shifted channels in addition to showing them "live", as there are many instances when it is desireable to watch the channels live, e.g., news, sporting events, etc.

In any case, keep up the good work and many thanks for listening and being responsive to subscriber feedback.

    Cheers

I did understand and still do, but if vutv was a reseller for oversea tv then they dont have any information to share with us on where we can get a hold of these creeps to get our money back, It drives me crazy knowing that someone has MY money and is spending it at there lesiure.  >=(

    Re: ITALIAN TV

Ok. It seems to me that for the Italians there is not any other service available rather than RAI international on cable and satellite in the US.

I know a lot of web site with minor local Italian TV station with poor quality but ....I am looking for other TV station, the most popular >>> Rai1,Rai2,Rai3,RaiSport,Canale5,Italia1,Rete4,LA7, SportItalia,Euronews,Nuvolari.......; these are typically free TV channel (no encryption) available in European Satellite Hotbird (13degree EST).

I am very curios to know how many Italians would be happy to pay US $20 for 10-15 good Italian Channel like above in good qualitity and legal with 6hrs programming shift . I would be the first to pay because I am already paying $9.99 with RAI International that is very boring.......

may be I am dreaming a service like this.........
