    what do i need to get IPTV working in Ireland for demonstration purposes?

    you need a broadband internet connection and a high speed PC (assuming that a demo to a PC would be acceptable). You could certainly demo internet tv with these 2 components.

     

    If you really want to go to your TV you'll need an IPTV "setup box" supported by your cable provider.

    How would i show IPTV from a PC?

    also what is the different between internet TV and IPTV

    you can simulate iptv with VLC streaming contents in a multicast form, and VLC accessing that content from another PC, all over a network segment.

    That's the essence of IPTV that, unlike internet TV, is based on isolated contents broadcast over multicast groups.

    If you can grab an IPTV set-top box (amino, etc.), the demo would be significantly more realistic.

    Also, if you want to demo a good bit of simulated IPTV streams (channels), you can use an Ineoquest Media Stimulus which will send up to 250 over a 1G ethernet connection.
