Video Coding ?

    Video Coding ?

                    Dear All

            Now, IPTV technology often use some video codecs such as : MPEG-2, MPEG-4, WMP...Anybody know other codec better ? Thank you very much.

    MPEG-x standards (underline that word) have strong support from the industry and provide good quality/compression. That's why they are used in almost any deployment.

    There are some experiences with VC-1 (WM9) as well, but marginal compared with MPEG-4.

    Hi all,

    Let me add to this that the codec used is exactly MPEG-4 part 10, which is known also as H.264. This codec is based in MPEG-2 with some enhances, and halves the bitrate required for a given quality.
