    where to start?

    hi

i am currently subscribed to kartina.tv, with their "propriatory" box.
by their box i mean - it's a SIG 220 box, flashed to work with kartina.tv by distributor.

works very well, i have no issues at all.

here's what i am trying to accomplish:

i do not quite appreciate 2 things, 1. $200 they want for the box, and 2. being unable to watch something else.

i need good advice on what set top box can i buy over the internet, that will work with kartina.tv (i have it working on computer, it's a question of downloading a VLAN program) and with other providers of any choice i wish.
it has to be reasonably priced and have SD outputs. wireless or not makes me no difference, i have CAT5 cable behind TV. it's a old, but well working Toshiba TV, and I am quite happy with it.

there's many set top boxes out there, but it is very confusing which one to buy.

    i have this now:

    any suggestions are appreciated

    Re: where to start?

    Hi ukrkoz11,

kartina.tv seems to be Russian based, correct me if I am wrong.

I think your best bet is to research the big brands and see if they supports it, and you can always check ebay you never know, you might get one these same box at a lower price.

    Good luck.

Looking at today and tomorrow's Digital Home Technology

You an try a fairly new TV Box called LookeeTV. I've heard good reviews about it. You can connect it to your tv with HDMI or tv-out and watch all the internet tv on your tv. One of their retailers: www.gadgetsfactory.com
