    Technical Support Engineer for Tier 3 Telecom Customers - Minerva Networks, Santa Clara, CA

    Headquartered in Santa Clara, CA, Minerva Networks is a privately-owned networking infrastructure company developing innovative end-to-end broadband IP television solutions in the telecommunication and enterprise markets. We are currently seeking a Technical Support Engineer who will be the first point of contact for Minerva's IP Video Headend customers and be responsible for providing phone support services on Minerva and related third party products.

    Responsibilities: Be the primary interface between Support and Engineering to drive activities within Minerva to address customers' and other Minerva support and service personnel’s needs. Investigate quality issues to enhance service provided to customers. Assist with and support on-going development and technical issues and recommend new solutions. Provide training and create technical documentation to help increase skills and knowledge of co-workers as well as contributing to the knowledgebase. Assist with resolving customer issues including isolating and troubleshooting problems associated with the customer's entire headend system including the satellite receiver systems, the MPEG-over-IP encoding, the IP networking system, application servers, video servers, conditional access systems, and set-top boxes. Re-create customer problems and test customer configurations in-house to help diagnose problems. Occasionally travel to customer sites to perform troubleshooting, upgrades, etc.

    Skills/Experience: 4+ years Technical Support experience with products related to digital video broadcasting, IP networking, and/or web-based client/server applications. Must have experience with Linux/Unix and networking. You must possess excellent troubleshooting, customer service, and verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to quickly learn a broad array of technologies and apply knowledge to real-world problems. Must be a flexible team player that is willing to jump in to help others wherever necessary. Familiarity with routing configuration and protocols and Oracle preferred

    Education: BSEE/BSCS or equivalent experience.
