    Re: OverseaTV

I have had OverseaTV(German TV) for about two years, and had been very satisified.   I started off paying 19.95 a month, then after six months, the price went to 29.95 a month, which I've been paying ever since.  There were some problems along the way, but that was the fault of TimeWarner Cable.  I had TimeWarner cable's Roadrunner service and everything worked for about a year and a half, although I did get "Buffering, please wait" messages, and always assumed those buffering messages was a problem with OverseaTV.

About six months ago, my service went out completely.  After working with OverseaTV(they were very helpful) and TimeWarner, I determined it was TimeWarner's problem.   I took my set top box to my parent's home and hooked it up to the TV and their internet service.  They have AT&T DSL which is through the phone line and much slower than TimeWarner's Roadrunner.

Guess what?  It worked perfectly, and not one "Buffering, please wait" message the whole weekend.  So now I know the problem was TimeWarner all along.

Since moving a couple of months ago, I haven't tried to connect to OverseaTV until today.  After two or three hours of trying, I finally got a message on the TV that says "We've been unable to obtain necessary funding to continue business".    I am very disappointed.   I want my German TV!!!!

Does anyone know what's going on?   I have not received any notification from OverseaTV about them going out of business.  Reading some of the other posts, it sounds like they are trying to restore service or some other company will take over and restore service.

I am disappointed that OverseaTV did not communicate any of this to it's customers.  Even if service is restored, I think we all should expect a refund or some kind of credit to our accounts.
