    Re: OverseaTV (TV ARABIYA)

The reason we do not carry these services are quit simple... ZDF, ARD, 3SAT, WDR, MDR, and Phoenix are not licenced for international distribution... OverseaTV was delivering these channels without the programmers conscent and violating internation copyright law... We are legitimate and have adhere to international copyright law... We are currently in dicussion with the above mentioned channels... We will have these channels available in the New Year...

    Re: OverseaTV (TV ARABIYA)

Well, until you(getnextv) get those other German channels, your service is of little use to subscribers of the German channels, because you are not carrying any of the major channels that are worth watching.

    Re: OverseaTV (TV ARABIYA)

We understand your concerns, however, we simple can't violate international copyright law... You have  a lot of options available to you... in the USA Dishnetwork has Pro7, German Kimo Film, DW and Euronews in German... In Canada Rogers Cable has Pro7and DW. You already know what we are offering... We can not please everyone! We do not want to end up like OverseaTV... I am also sure as a subscriber you would'nt be very happy to loose the services again... We do not need any law suits from channel operators and the copyright board. I am sorry but we cant help you at this time...

    Re: OverseaTV (TV ARABIYA)

Getnextv.  We understand and are not blaming you.  It is just frustration.  The channels you mention that are available through Dishnetwork and Rogers Cable are not the channels we want.  Deutsche Welle and Euronews is well, news, news and more news.  They don't carry any of the mainstream programming, shows, and entertainment.

    Re: OverseaTV (TV ARABIYA)

Have any of you seen this post from VUTV?   I am hoping this guy can follow through on what he says:

    Vutv

    Dear Valued Customer

We would like to sincerely apologize for the inconvenience that OverseaTv has caused for all of us. As your trusted dealer I would like to ensure you that we are taking the necessary steps through a new provider to restore service to you as soon as possible. The first step we took was to insure that all our clients credit cards were safe and we were assured that all client credit cards have been removed.

A brief history about us , we have been in business for over 12 years we have been able to stay in business because we always put our customers ahead of a dollar value, and our ability to keep an open line of communications in the time of need. All of our customers have been informed of the situation and know the steps we are taking to restore service.

As of now we have reached some progress by being able to provide the following programming, German, Russian, Ukrainian, and Arabic. The information on the website will be updated shortly for the procedure that is needed to get your telvesion services back

If you currently own a wave 300 we will be able to switch you over almost hassle free, we are also working to get all x overseatv customers units in a form of a trade in, and a free service for a month or two.

I have a working unit that i am test and the GUI on the new box is amazing less lag time when switching channels  and a picture guide to stay tuned while using the guide option.

For further information and a faster response please email us at info@vutv.tv or if you would like contact us by phone please do so at 1-866-840-5454. Please keep in mind that we a receiving a high volume of calls and we are doing our best to answer all of your calls.

    Sincerely yours,

    Re: OverseaTV (TV ARABIYA)

When you deal with illegal operators they promise you the world and for a short period of time might even deliver it. Unfortunelty, they then stop operating and as a subscriber you are now addicted to something you shouldnt have had in the first place... Trust us we do understand... Our parent company operates Pro7 in Canada and 12 other language channels... Its pretty frustrating for us when we cant deliver these serives to the viewers, and some guys who doesn't care about copyrights or any other broadcast law manages to get the best channels from Germany or any other country out thier... Every channels we deliver to our viewers we have signed distribution agreements with... We know for a fact that OverseaTV didnt have any distribution rights for any of the German channels they were offering... We have a copy of the letter we recieved from Germany and will post it here so that you can finally understand what they were up to... BTW, HAPPY NEW YEAR.

    Re: OverseaTV (TV ARABIYA)

It seems lots of things these days are a rip-off.  I've been around for a while, and I distinctly remember when the Internet first came on the scene.  We were told it would be free and always be free because it had been developed by universities and the military, paid for with taxpayer dollars.  All a person would need would be a computer and one would never have to pay to go on the Internet.

    Famous last words.

    Re: German Tv

I really hope Vutv can help us. If not, maybe we can write German Medias to offer us a package in the USA. The demand is here. Don't see why not. The technology is there. It's the Internet. The whole World is connected.  Just need to stream from Overseas. We can get VOD from ZDF and some Livestreamed Shows already.

    Re: OverseaTV (TV ARABIYA)

I really hope Vutv can help us, too.   I'm not sure any of the other services even have an interest in obtaining the channels we want.  They don't sound very enthusiastic about helping us out.   Druecken wir die Daumen!

    German Tv

Well just saw on ZDF.de that we are going to miss the Silvesterparty tonight. What a shame.  I wish everybody in this Forum a Happy New Year. Guten Rutsch.  Hopefully our Germantv problem will workout soon in 2008.

    Re: OverseaTV (TV ARABIYA)

Will getnextv carry any Italian channels?  All you can get here in the US on cable or satellite is Rai news.  Overseatv had the Rai mainstream channels and until about 6 months ago the mainstream mediaset channels.  Does anyone here know about getting theses channels back.  Thanks

    Re: OverseaTV (TV ARABIYA)

Servus_Aus_Tex, I hear what your saying...I thought I could surf the web and find practically anything. It's not hard finding German products to buy online but when it comes to German TV shows it's hard. I used to have GlobeSat for some German TV shows until DishNetwork bought them out. Now I refuse to pay for regular channels on top of paying for the German channels when I already have cable tv (and internet). Plus, DishNetwork only had 3 channels and one was DW....big deal, who cares.

As for German News programs I can get that free already on the internet I don't need to pay a service like GetNextTV top watch News. Was OverseasTV legal? Who nows, who cares....most of what I see online is not really legal, plus to many consumers get ripped off from online companies.

I will go to any company that provides me MDR, WDR, SAT1, ZDF 3SAT and hey even KIKA! It might be illegal, but I won't be paying them for a full year, i'll just go monthly this time.

I'm standing up for my Sendung mit der Maus!

And if GetNextTV can provide it within next year, then so be it but until then I'll look elsewhere....

    Re: OverseaTV (TV ARABIYA)

Templaralt, I feel the same way, don't care... as long as I get them.

Also if Overseatv was so Illegal, why was there and still is a link for Overseatv on the German Consulate website in san francisco, ca. I had service with Overseatv almost 2 years, you would think if  they were so illegal it wouldn't have lastet that long. They weren't hiding. German Medias would have shut them down.  Maybe I need to send a slingbox home and not worry anymore.

    Re: OverseaTV (TV ARABIYA)

    Dear Valued Customer

First of  all I would like to make sure that everyone understand that we do not have any affiliations with Oversea Tv or Broadshift.

As for now Vutv and Getnextv are working together and very hard to provide customers that have lost their channels service back as soon as possible.

As of now our techs are working hard for customer that already have a wave 300 to remotely access our website and do a software upgrade online.

For German and Russian customer we can have up back up as early as today.

Please call us at 1-866-840-5454  for more details on how to upgrade your box and activate your system

    Regards

    Wissam Bawab
