    Re: OverseaTV (TV ARABIYA)

I am having the same problem with the Italian channels.  I just got the message today.  Everything was working fine up until then.  I paid $500 for the box and a lifetime subscription about 18 months ago.  The overseatv website is still up and looks like its ready to take orders.

    Re: OverseaTV (TV ARABIYA)

I called vutv.tv today.  The guy said that he could send me a new sim? card to flash the existing box I have for $75, then I would have to pay a monthly service fee.  Does anyone know if this is all legit.

    Re: OverseaTV (TV ARABIYA)

We lost our German channels about two weeks ago and now I have to find somebody else to provide us with German TV (specially ZDF, ARD etc.). I signed up with OverseaTV about 8 months ago and I just can not believe they did not notify us, the customers, about the change, what kind of business practice is that! Now I have a question about www.vutv.tv

OverseaTV and VuTv seem to be the same company but is VUTV still in business, are they still providing the German/Italian etc. channels?

Is anybody using VuTv and how long have they been in business?

    How is their service?

My parents are here from Germany and both don't understand a lot of english so I really need to get the German channels going again and any help from this board is greatly appreciated.

    Re: OverseaTV (TV ARABIYA)

You can start by contesting all transaction with you bank or Master card, before that you have to send a fax to Broadshift in order to ban using your credit card..we can make a collective resort or recourse if all mebers on this forum agree..

    Re: OverseaTV (TV ARABIYA)

YOUR " OVERSEATV " BOX WILL WORK WITH "VUTV" SERVICE !!!!!!!

people might loose the subscription  through SHIFTTV they paid but you might not have to buy a new box. I called the 416 VUTV  (located in Toronto) number from there sight and talked to a guy named Aberham.

he was saying  Next Thursday to call him because they are going to have a better idea what is going to happen to the SHIFTTV subscribers.

My main concern was that if my box will work with VUTV.

I live in the Toronto area and asked him if i could drive down to where he works and test my box. He told me it wasn't a problem and said that it will probably be solved in a few weeks and i probably won't have to drive down.

Looks like VUTV is going to buy out SHIFTV suscribers but this is going to take time. if not you might be able to save money on re-buying the box.

I'll keep everyone posted with what is going on but it won't be till next week maybe the next.

Until then just sit tight enjoy the newyear and hold out from buying a box. It might work with VUTV. i'll post you guys on thursday.

I had the German television and it went out thursday. this is just temporary. 240.00 it looks like the subscription rate for VUTV per year. $ 40.00 more then OVERSEATV (SHIFTTV) per year but well worth it as far as i'm concerned if it means getting my german tv back.

    have a happy newyear !!!

i'll be going to toronto thursday to test my  OVERSEATV box with VUTV

    Re: OverseaTV (TV ARABIYA)

    Hello Cleanser 420,

Vielen Dank! Thank you for fighting for us German TV subscribers! I have been distraught over the loss of my ZDF und ARD programming. I am a German teacher who also tapes segments for my students here in So. Cal. plus I keep up my interest and fluency in Deutsch. Please let us know what to do. My German TV also went out two days ago. I don't mind paying more--just help us get it back!

    Re: OverseaTV (TV ARABIYA)

I have the Global 500 STB. While I loved the German channels, I had a problem with the picture freezing and returning to the menu. This would occur approximately once per hour during the week and every 3-4 hours on weekends. I attributed this to signal dropout somewhere along the chain of internet servers. The most annoying part was that in order to restore the picture the power cord had to be removed and the STB rebooted. It seems like it would be easy to have the STB automatically try to restore an interrupted connection.

Has anyone else had this problem? Is it the global 500? Is there a new STB that does not have this problem?

    Re: OverseaTV (TV ARABIYA)

    Dear Valued Customers

I will be responding to recurring questions on this forum.

If you have a settop box we are working hard to get you the new set up box FREE of charge

If you have a wave box we can send you a USB stick to falsh your box to the new frame ware

If you live in the GTA area we can have service back for you by Monday after 2 pm for Russian German and Ukrainian and hopefully Arabic programming.

I also would like to inform you that I have spoken to the techs and right now they don't think you can access the server remotely to flash your Set Up Box. But I will be in a meeting on Monday to get all the details and see if the possibility is there.

I would like to get service back to as many people as possible before New Years Eve so if you do live around the Toronto we are  able to get you switched over from 2pm till 5 pm.

Comming from an Ethinc background myself I do understand the frustrations on you and your familys not to be able to watch your channels. I also would like to assure that we are in it for the long run and are doing our best to make this transition as hassle free as possible

    Sincerely Your

    Wissam Bawab
