Headquartered in Santa Clara, CA, Minerva Networks is a privately owned networking infrastructure company developing innovative end-to-end broadband IP television solutions in the telecommunication and enterprise markets. We are currently seeking a Performance Engineer with a Networking and Applications background
Responsibilities:
- Analyze performance, reliability and scalability of complex IP television solutions for top-tier service providers.
- Evaluate end-to-end systems to isolate performance bottlenecks, and recommend improvements and optimizations.
- Assess and recommend hardware sizing to meet varying projected service provider requirements.
- Use, and develop as required, test and monitoring tools to effectively quantify performance.
Required Skills/Experience:
- Extensive experience verifying scalability, reliability and high-availability of top-tier enterprise solutions.
- Excellent system and software analysis/debugging skills.
- Experience with network analysis, sniffer, or equivalent tools.
- Experience with LoadRunner or equivalent load test tools.
- Experience with Unix and Windows platforms.
- Strong scripting language skills.
- Deep theoretical and practical understanding of networking.
- Strong technical knowledge of databases and data storage systems.
- 24/7 production environment experience, and understanding of associated requirements.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Ability to effectively conduct technical discussions directly with customers and prospects.
Education and Training:
7-10 years of system performance engineering and test experience. Bachelors CS/EE degree or equivalent. Masters CS/EE degree or equivalent preferred.
