Re: NexTV was OverseaTV (German TV)

I was a subscriber of TVITALIANA.com with the online package at $19.99 and I was happy with that service. I wrote in this FORUM since december but I never got a clear answer. I am very disappointed with the way all this IPTV business has been done from TVITALIANA and now I see similar approach with these other companies NEXTV or VUTV or whatever. I will personally will not rely anymore on this type of service, web not ready; no phone; link broken; What does it mean "researching the market for potential subscribers", how do you research it? either you know your market or you don't! the fact is that out of this forum I was a "6th" subscriber of the Italian programming and we have no service longer. In Italy there is FASTWEB offering all European channel from SKY Satellite into WEBTV we may try to consider this company if they allow this service to foreign IP out of Italy and if there is not legal issue.

Condor, in case you didn't get it yet, it is all about legal issues. Nextv tries to play legal, that's why they don't have the channels. Broadshift played illegal and tried to legalize illegal market, the result of it you can see in your set top box.

Re: NexTV was OverseaTV (German TV)

    Dear Friends,

I have some good news about Italian IPTV service. I have heard that a New York based company will provide a variety of Italian TV channels, basically regional channels and Video On Demand content very soon. This company is said to be fully licensed by the TV stations and will start their service very soon.

They will have several locations in the New York region where customers can purchase the box directly as a convenience, and also they will sell nationwide and in Canada.

I will keep you up to date as soon as I get more info.

    Re: OverseaTV (TV ARABIYA)

    Hey whats up?

Yes I'm also in BK, as far as the name I have no clue yet I have heard from a friend.

I understand the channels will be regional channels mostly from Sicily and it should be around 10 channels I believe.
I'll let you know as soon as I have any info or website available, I believe he said it will be around end of February that they will launch this service.

Re: NexTV was OverseaTV ITALIAN TV

Regarding NexTV for German Programming...  While it is currently a nice service they are providing, without the major interest programs such as ARD and MDR, I do not believe the current German programs that are offered meet the needs and desires of most German viewers.  When one considers the expense of the purchasing the Wave equipment, monthly cost to maintain a high speed Internet line, and the monthly fee charged by NexTV for the current "lack-luster" selection of programs, the cost is too high without the better quality programs that are offered on ARD, MDR, WDR, etc.

I am currently a subscriber with NexTV and will be patient for the short term to see if they improve their programming selection.  In all fairness, they are scrambling to give the viewers what we want.  But they need to know what we want, and unless we tell them, I fear they will not be successful since people will eventually lose interest and just cancel their subscriptions.

I will be patient for the short term, but if other viewers share the same concerns I have about the quality of the programs, let NexTV know so they can work towards providing the quality of programs that will satisfy our collective viewing interests.

And thank you, NexTV, for bringing a service that we all want.  If you succeed, we succeed.  Please work towards improving your program selections!

    Re: OverseaTV

Ok.  I'm confused.  There's NEXTV and there's VUTV.  Which one is better?  I'm hearing alot from NEXTV subscribers, but not much from VUTV subscribers.  Who offers the best plan and programming?  VUTV, why should I go with you rather than NEXTTV?

    Re: OverseaTV

VUTV is currently a reseller of NexTV.  Thus, they offer the  s a m e  programming.  In terms of cost, call up and find out who offers a better deal.  I would tend to think dealing directly with NexTV, rather than with a middle man, would be slightly more cost effective.  On the other hand, for someone with less tech savvy, perhaps a reseller will offer better customer service.

Finally, don't be afraid to negotiate.  It seems certain things are negotiable, like "activation fees" and getting anywhere from 1 to 3 months of subscription free.

    Cheers.

    Re: ITALIAN Programming

Here is the latest updates I have :

Around March 1st the New York company will launch 9 TV Italian channels. As far as I understand these are regional Italian channels from Sicily and the rest of Italy and include a variety of genres.

The channels will be live and also in EST time (6 hour delay) so basically you will have 9 TV stations but 18 channels (both live and with 6 hour delay) in reality.

I will post more info as soon as I find out, I am very excited :-)

    Re: ITALIAN Programming

First let me say regarding the Italian Channels, You got screwed by overseatv NOT nextv

Overseatv made them avialable with out haveing the right to show them.

they are not yet being provided through Nextv because i am sure they have to first obtain the rights to be able to shown the channels. so maybe that is something in time they can provided.

but it seems like some of you are blaming them for not having them But the fact is they are trying to do it the right way.

now i have a question for VUTV I ran the updated and all went fine  my question is what did this do??  I was hoping it would improve the picture quality but it is still on the grainy side and when i watch my FOOTBAL/Soccer there is a lot more blur to the movments,, it was not that bad with tvrossiya.   so please do what ever you chn to impove PICTURE Quality for Russian package.
